eden nature park & resort 2009 - ever+jimmy's wedding

another union of two hearts, the love of a scandinavian to a lovely filipina.
it's a travel-themed wedding, set at the serene amphitheatre of eden nature park & resort, davao city…

eden's amphitheatre

i was so excited to attend this wedding because i'll be seeing close and dear friends again. friends whom i haven't seen for years or months.

the cake masters,

laurence, aynee, allan and me were able to catched-up with each other as we spent the night together before the wedding at ever's place at toril. we were warmly welcomed by nanay mel and tatay andres. we used to sleep-over on ever's place at gen santos city during our college days.  some friends, andoi, elj, ate mae and kuya roechil came on the day of the wedding.

tears of joys and laughters were on everyone's face as we witness the entrance of the groom and the bride.

and of course the never-ending posed on camera(s) everywhere, from prom to wackie posed, and the never-missed jump shot.

the never-missed epic jump shot

we heard touching messages from friends and families. also, it was during this time when bula-bula gathered numerously. a lot of unforgettable memories to cherish.

10km - pocari sweat run 2012

yay…! i am now a finisher of a 10km run :))
last sunday, 15th of july, was an exciting day for me. it was my first official 10km run. i've been looking forward to this day since i registered for the event, the pocari sweat run 2012 at gardens by the bay.

running with hundreds or maybe even thousands of runners was just so cool. i have passed some but there were more  runners who passed by me, hehehe...
it just feels so very good :))

it felt so very good crossing the finish line and receiving the finisher medal. and  frank was indeed right, that after the marathon, it feels like, "let's go for another one..."

i've been jogging and running as a form of my exercise and motivated to run and join more running events. now, i'm looking forward for two 21km run this september and december. praying and hoping to cross the finish line.

it's my 32 | 33-ish bday

it's kinda confusing, huh…

perlamiley gave birth to a baby girl named mikaela on the 12th of july, 1980. and another baby girl named babylyn on the 16th of september, 1981. but their father left them when mikaela was only 2 years old. as she and her younger sister grew up, their mother diligently taught them how to read a-ba-ka-da and a-b-c-d. these two little girls somewhat learned the pre-school and kindergarten lessons at home. they even memorized english poems, orations and declamations. while their mom manicures/pedicures, her customers get entertained.

mikaela was almost 6 years old, when her mom brought her to school. but during those times, u can't be enrolled for grade one if you're younger than 7 years old, and birth certificate is a requirement, but her father brought it with him when he left.

to comply the requirement, mikaela was late registered for a new birth certificate on a new name and new year of birth. yes! new name which is now char mae. charm, to many and charmz/chang/cha/tsarmi to some :)

late registration
i would always answer/insist my real age, based on the year 1980, when asked. but lately,  to get rid of telling the story behind it, i would directly answer based on the year 1979.

yesterday, i just turned 33 :)) still single but happy and enjoying the most of what life can offer...

birthday cake, i bought myself :)
even i'm away from home, i thank God for being so loved and blessed with all the birthday greetings and wishes i received and keep on receiving, it means a lot to me...

it's a polka-dot-themed party of four

tagaytay 2009 - kristine+gijs' wedding

not everyone is blessed with a boss like mine :)) i started working here in singapore sometime april 2009 and few months after, he granted my request to have a week off, making use of my return ticket.
usually, it takes one year before you can avail a vacation leave...

that was july 2009, i met up with ever at manila, shopped a little and we're both off to tagaytay. and oh, i lost a borrowed camera at mall of asia, it was taken secretly from my bag :(
we attended a dear friend's wedding the next day, kristine & gijs, in a wonderful caleruega church at nasugbu, batangas.

caleruega church

i was so thrilled as well because i've seen it on some tagalog movies. it could have been great if we had more time to explore and feel the coolness and beauty of the place...

the wedding was so lovely and solemn. love ones shed tears of joy in celebration of the couple's union. i am so grateful that i am one of the few guests the couple had.

me, kristine & ever (never mind the shiny faces)

after the wedding ceremony we were treated to a breakfast at sonya's garden.

ever and i never got the chance to roam around tagaytay as we both had to go back to manila on the same day. but we had a glance of the taal lake behind taal vista hotel where the couple and some guests checked-in.

taal lake, foggy morning

backed in manila, we had the chance to meet up with ping & aynee, another dear friends i have, who happened to be in the city. we spent an overnite together, of course not missing the bula-bula session.
took a flight home the next day and stayed there for few days.

father-less

me and my late sister grew up without a father. he left us when i was just two years old… some kids, had gone worst having a broken family. but it's not like that in all cases... especially, if we see how a single parent struggles and works hard for the kids left on her/him.
life could be different on me had i grow up with a guide of a father. i could have been a better person or i could have been worst...

where is our father..? why is it that other kids has a father and we don't...? few questions our mom should have answered  but she never heard us asked... we never dared to. i have so much respect on how she had brought us up from childhood to being an adult...

(image taken from imdb app)

but don't get me wrong, i never hated my father, i just did not look or long for him... i am so much contented on how my mother loves us.

but it is still great to have a complete and happy family… which i always long and hope for…

"courageous" is a touching and inspiring movie… it's a story of four police officers who struggle with their faith and their roles as husbands and fathers when tragedy strikes close to home, together they make  decision that will change all of their lives. fathers, be inspired...!
